It is indeed our pleasure to have RI President Gordon McInally paying a visit to our District 3450 last December. During his visit, RI President Gordon McInally and the team met John Lee, the Chief Executive of Hong Kong SAR, at his office. Several media coverage was received during his visit. Joint DMC & JPM in Macau
In January, the Joint DMC and JPM were hosted in Macau. More than 60 District Officers and Presidents gathered in Macau on 6 January 2024 to march in the new beginning. Taking this opportunity, I would like to express my gratitude to the responsible DS team and Area 1 Presidents for organizing such a great event. A very successful occasion indeed. Everyone enjoyed the nice buffet and games after having a quick review on the first half of Rotary Year.
澳門聯合DMC及JPM
新年伊始，今年首個DMC及JPM於同日聯合舉行，逾60名地區職員及社長於2024年1月6日齊聚澳門慶祝新一年的來臨。感謝負責的地區秘書團隊及第一區域社長們的協助，令是次會議得已成功移師澳門舉行。在檢討本年度上半年的工作後，與會者享用豐盛的晚宴，又一同參與遊戲增進彼此的友誼。
Meeting with AGs in Macau
Stepping into 2024 marks the coming of the second phrase of this Rotary Year. Assistant Governors and I put our heads together to review our work in the first six months in Macau. We summarized our achievement, shared our experience, and the challenges we encountered in carrying out our duties. A review can always refresh our mind and reassure us that we are on the right track in achieving our ultimate goal – Create Hope in the World. If you still have something up your sleeves, do show it. There is never too much hope in the world.

踏入2024年，意味着進入本扶輪年度下半年。我和各助理總監於澳門會面，共同檢討過去半年的所作所得，總結我們的成績，分享我們的經驗，以及我們在履行職責過程中所遇到的挑戰。年中檢討讓我們思維清晰，確保我們目標明確，務求達至「為世界創造希望」。若各社友仍有任何潛在的服務尚未開展，請勿吝嗇，希望是絕不嫌多的。
Fellowship Visit to RI District 3300 & RI District 3310
Fellowship is the rock-solid bond of Rotary.
The PDG Council organized a fellowship visit to RI District 3300 and RI District 3310. It was indeed a great opportunity to strengthen the bonding with our Zone 10C counterparts. All the participants exchanged our ideas on how to foster more tripartite collaborations between districts in Zone 10C.
Our District then hosted a lunch to celebrate the gathering of the three districts. I am glad to meet District Governor KS Teoh from District 3300 and District Governor John Chan from District 3310.

友誼是扶輪社友間最堅韌的牽絆。前地區總監委員會安排了拜訪3300地區及3310地區的行程。是次拜訪是鞏固我們地區與第10C地域其他地區聯繫的良機。各人於與會時踴躍發言，就如何促進第10C地域的三方合作展開討論。
我們地區其後舉辦午餐會，慶祝是次地區團聚。我十分榮幸能認識3300地區KS Teoh地區總監及3310地區John Chan地區總監。

The team also paid a visit to Children BRCR Rotary Children’s Home, a shelter to a maximum of 150 underprivileged and at-risk children. As one of the operators, Rotary Club of Kuala Lumpur Diraja aims to cultivate children to be compassionate citizens and masters of their craft.
Thank you PDG Ada and her team for putting us together on this wonderful trip. It was indeed a great opportunity to strengthen the bonding with districts in Zone 10C. I found the discussion session and service visits very useful.

團隊隨後探訪BRCR 扶輪兒童之家，該兒童之家最高可容納150名貧困和受威脅兒童。作為營運者之一，Rotary Club of Kuala Lumpur Diraja旨在培養孩子成為富有同情心的公民，並擁有一門手藝。
感謝前地區總監鄭瑤璋及其團隊安排是次的拜訪，是次拜訪乃加強第10C地域地區間聯繫的契機。我從討論和服務探訪中皆得益不少。
Mangrove Sapling Plantation and Ecological Conservation Tour
An ecological conservation tour was held by the Preserve Planet Earth Committee (PPE) on 20 January 2024. Over 100 Rotarians, Rotaractors, Interactors, families and friends showed how care we are with their actions. On that day, we gathered at Sha Tau Kok Farm to plant mangrove sapling, to take part in the ecological conservation tour and to clean the beach. There is no planet B. No act is small when it comes to preservation.
紅樹林樹苗種植及生態保育之旅
Preserve Planet Earth Committee (PPE)於2024年1月20日舉辦生態保育之旅。逾百名扶輪社友、扶青社員、扶少團員及親友以行動展示環境保育的決心。當天，我們齊聚沙頭角農場種植紅樹林樹苗，其後一同參與生態保育之旅，並以清潔海灘結束該天的行程。環境保育工作無分大小，若不及時行動，屆時便追悔莫及。
Elderly Healthcare Day
This is one of the signature projects of Rotary Club of Peninsula South. The 29th Elderly Healthcare Day was successfully organized on 15 January 2024. About 250 elderly people joined us for the health talk. Following the group exercise designed for elderly and performance, each participant got their blood test report and had an individual consultation with healthcare professionals. There is an old Chinese saying that ‘we should honour the elderly in other families as we honour those in our own. We spent time with them, we listened to them, we entertained them, and most importantly, we care about them.

長者保健日是半島南扶輪社標誌性服務項目之一。 第29屆長者保健日已於2024年1月15日順利舉行。當日約250名長者在健康講座後，一同學習專為長者而設的養身動作，並欣賞歌唱表演。其後，每位參與者取得他們的血液檢測報告，並與專業醫業人員進行個人諮詢。古語有云：「老吾老以及人之老」。 我們陪伴長者，與他們互動交流，又為他們帶來娛樂，只因—我們關心他們。
Cervical Cancer Awareness Campaign
With official sponsorship from Merck, Rotary Club of Hong Kong managed to be the first charity to organize outreach service in school for Cervical Cancer Awareness health talk and sponsor HPV vaccination to underprivileged girls. Vaccination took place after Dr. Sharon Wong giving a health talk to the students of Kowloon Sam Yuk Secondary School. Cervical cancer is the seventh commonest cancer among females in Hong Kong. With vaccination, cervical cancer is preventable.
預防子宮頸癌推廣
在默克藥廠的官方贊助下，香港扶輪社成為首個在學校舉辦HPV疫苗外展服務的慈善機構，舉辦預防子宮頸癌推廣健康講座，並贊助有需要的女孩們接種HPV疫苗。 Dr. Sharon Wong於講座中為九龍三育中學同學們講解預防子宮項癌的重要性，並在講座完結後聯同其他醫護人員為同學們接種疫曲。子宮頸癌是香港女性第七常見的癌症。 透過疫苗接種，便能有效預防子宮頸癌。
First Step to Rotaract
It is my pleasure to join the first day of “First Step to Rotaract” together with DRC Jeffrey, DDRR Steven, DDRCs and ADRRs. Over 110 participating Rotaractors were so attentive in the training. I am glad to have an-hour-sharing on Rotary Knowledge, Rotary values and Rotary opportunities in order to let our youth have a full picture of Rotary.To know each other is the best way to understand each other. I hope the 3-day camping would guide all passionate Rotaractors to be our future leaders. I am looking forward to meeting our youth at the incoming Spring Dinner.
First Step to Rotaract
我很高興與DRC Jeffrey、DDRR Steven、DDRC 和ADRR 一起參加「First Step to Rotaract」首天的活動。參加是次訓練營的110多名扶青社員非常專心，很高興能為他們講解扶輪知識、扶輪價值和扶輪機會等，讓我們的年青人全面了解扶輪。相互了解是相互認識的最佳途徑。我希望為期三天的訓練營能引導充滿熱情的扶青社員成為我們未來的領導者。我期待在春節晚宴上再次與我們的年青人見面。
Joining 10km Run in The Hong Kong Marathon
Together with PDG Eric Chak, PDG Keith Chow and IPDG Norman Lee and several Rotarians, we took part in the 10km run of the Hong Kong Marathon on 21 January 2024. It doesn’t matter how fast we can run. What mattered was that we went out and challenged ourselves. Taking this opportunity, I would like to encourage all Rotarians to exercise more and stay healthy.
參與香港馬拉松10公里賽事
聯同翟慶聰前地區總監、周基業前地區總監、李德利甫缷任地區總監以及社友們，我們於2024年1月21日一同參與香港馬拉松10公里賽事。成績只是其次，重點是我們皆挑戰自己，完成賽事。藉此機會勉勵各扶輪社友多運動，期望各位皆能身體健康。
3×3 Interact Basketball 2023-24 (Hong Kong Preliminary Round)
The 3×3 Interact Basketball 2023-2024(Hong Kong preliminary round) was held on 27 January 2024. Over 30 teams from Interact schools gathered at HKWMA Chu Shek Lun Secondary School to take their shot. The qualifying teams will play a part in the final round on 30 March 2024 together with teams from Macau and Mongolia.Thank you Chair PP Tony Leung from Rotary Club of Star Avenue and his team. It was a fun & energetic day!

3X3扶少團籃球盃2023-2024 (香港區初賽)於2024 年1月27日舉行，逾30支來自扶少團學校的隊伍齊聚香港布廠商會朱石麟中學一展球技。初賽出線的隊伍將進入決賽，於2024年3月30日與澳門和蒙古出線隊伍一決高下。感謝星光大道扶輪社PP Tony Leung及其團隊統籌這一切，讓大家度過有趣且充滿活力的一天！
The 20th Biliteracy & Trilingualism Composition and Speech Competition (Secondary School)
In order to encourage students to develop their communication skills in Cantonese, English and Mandarin, Rotary Club of Hong Kong West joined hands with Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers to organise the 20th Biliteracy & Trilingualism Composition and Speech Competition. This year, over 400 students from 70 secondary schools demonstrated their excellent skills to prove that they are undoubtedly trilingual. The awarding ceremony was held on 13 January 2024 to recognise their hard work. No one can master a language without knowing its culture. It is a good way to view the world from a different point of view.
第二十屆全港中學「兩文三語」菁英大比拼
為鼓勵學生學習廣東話、英語及普通話，香港西區扶輪社與香港教育工作者聯會合辦第20屆全港中學「兩文三語」菁英大比拼。今年，來自70所中學的400多名學生展現他們三語的能力，語言天賦過人。頒獎典禮於2024年1月13日舉行，以表彰他們的出色表現。 掌握語言必先了解其文化，學習不同的語言可引領同學們從不同角度看待世界。
The 7th Secondary School Peer Mediation Competition 2024 – Online Workshop
The online workshop for the 7th Secondary School Peer Mediation Competition(SSPMC) 2024 was lectured by Josephine Ma. Through role play workshops and sharing by SSPMC alumni, students were guided to understand the mediation concepts, processes and techniques progressively. With the problem-solving skills, students would be able to handle conflicts and disputes among peers in a peaceful and rational manner after the training.
2024年第七屆中學朋輩調解比賽 – 線上工作坊
2024年第七屆中學朋輩調解比賽(SSPMC)線上工作坊由Josephine Ma女士主講。透過角色扮演和SSPMC校友的分享，引導同學們一步步了解調解的概念、流程和技巧。期望學員們能從中學習如何解決問題，並學以致用以和平、理性的方式處理朋輩之間的衝突和糾紛。
Rotary Peace Workshop
Rotary Peace Workshop was held on 27 January 2024. This time, we were glad to invite Mr. Maurice Yeung, The Society of St Vincent de Paul, Mr. Spencer Leung, Rotary Peace Fellow based in Thailand, and Mr. Adrian Kwong,representative of Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong to share the insight of achieving inner peace and outer peace. Peace is everywhere. It can be social stability. It can also be a peaceful mind. By the end of the workshop, we took an hour to do chair yoga under the lead of Yama Foundation tutor. With breathing techniques, meditation and mindfulness practices, the stress-relieving sequence brought us to a peace of mind.

扶輪和平工作坊於2024年1月27日圓滿舉行。這次我們很榮幸邀請到了聖雲先會香港中央分會的Maurice Yeung先生、駐泰國的扶輪和平研究員Spencer Leung先生以及香港李寶椿聯合世界書院代表Adrian Kwong先生分享內心平靜與外在和平的真知灼見。 和平無處不在，和平可以是社會穩定，也可以是一顆平靜的心。在分享後，我們在Yama基金會導師的帶領下練習近一小時的椅子瑜珈。透過呼吸技巧、冥想和正念練習緩解壓力，讓我們達至內心平靜。
The 2nd Inclusive Floor Curling Cup
Organized by Rotary Club of Manhattan Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Rehabilitation Power, the 2nd Inclusive Floor Curling Cup was successfully held on 27 January 2024 at Caritas Institute of Higher Education campus. People are disabled when they are limited by their disabilities. After spending hours with the athletes, I was sure that their abilities would win over their disabilities. Let’s embrace the disabled, not with sympathy, but with equal respect.
第二屆同創共融地壼球挑戰盃
由香港曼克頓扶輪社及香港復康力量聯合舉辦的第二屆同創共融地壺球挑戰盃已於2024年1月27日假明愛專上學院校園順利舉行。肢體不健全人士並不一定受殘疾限制，他們勇於克服自身障礙。在與運動員相處期間，他們以行動證明他們的實力並未受身障所限。 身障人士需要的並不是同情，而是我們對他們平等、由衷的尊重。
